Terceras partes... / Third parts...

(You can read it in English at the end of the post!)

Colección s/s 2013 - Death in Venice

¡Espero vuestros comentarios! Saludos y hasta pronto :)

Hi everyone! Let me introduce myself: my name is Andrea, I'm 18 and from Barcelona, and I'm currently studying advertising in Pompeu Fabra University. I'm starting, for the third time, a blog. The truth is, in the other attempts, I had tones of good intentions but not much willpower (does this word exist? Just found it on google translator). Let's see if this is the good one!
I'm starting in September. New season, new collections, new course, new purposes. It's kind of the January of fashion. I'm taking advantage of all the fuzz that's going on with Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Madrid to start in the blogger world...
I've been lucky enough to visit the Cibelespacio (the place where all the magazines and promotors are located during fashion week) and take a look to the things going on there. I won't be talking about the famous and senior designers, others with more experience and wisdom have already done that...
Instead, I'd like to talk about the young ones, who are just starting (like me). That's the designers of Ego (the young version of fashion week). What I liked the most of my visit to the Cibelespacio was their showroom, where I had the chance of touching and trying all the clothes (and actually you could buy them as well). What I saw there was really encouraging, as it was plenty of very fresh and original clothes, with a really modern vision. It remind me of the Scandinavian brands, like Acne or Cos, and also was close to the spirit of Alexander Wang or Philip Lim. In fact, many clothes you actually want to spend money on (and actually can, due to the fact they aren't crazily expensive) and wear, which is great, considering how boring the senior collections of Madrid Fashion Week are usually. I am, therefore, thrilled and excited to see these young designers grow and keep creating. I'm going to introduce you to three of them.

Carla Armero is a young designer, already graduated from ESDi. I loved her collection Death in Venice, for spring/summer 2013. She proposes very simple lines, but the cool thing lies on the fact her designs are sober but sensual, with a very elegant touch. That awesome feeling of wearing a simple dress and think I look amazing.

[manifesto reche] is the project of Sandra and Natalia Escudero Reche. They have strong architectonical influences, that translates into vanguardists designs. The play with the cuts and lines in a very original way. Her collection Architectural Suburbs, besides what I just said, also has a very nice use of the neons, combined with nude and black. Pay special attention to the materials! I'm personally in love with the chiffon pants (which you can find on sale on her e-shop).

And last but not least, El Colmillo de Morsa (which is translated as "walrus tusk"). The label is designed by Jordi Espino and Elisabeth Vallecillo, based in Barcelona. They design for both men and women, and I specially admire the way they play with textures and patterns. They offer modern silhouettes, paying special attention to the volumes.

What do you think about these young designers? Do you like their creations? Any thoughts on Madrid Fashion Week? I look forward to read your comments! xx

  1. Hello Andrea S. (which reminds me of Andrea Sachs from "The Devil Wears Prada" movie).

I've just seen the comment on my blog.
congrats for this iniciative! And good luck. One post every day, and you'll gain your own space!

And congrats on the iniciative of promoting the young talents. There are very good and talanted people around us, but it seems that it's always the same people that we hear talking about.

Hope you visit my blog more often (though it's in portuguesa, for now...)
